Once owners start doing un-supervised maintenance, old airplanes will become worthless. if you do not believe me go find a 1946 Dodge and take it on a 500 mile drive. The guy I just bought my Cherokee from was a bit of a flake, but after looking at the logs and verifying the work had been done, I jumped in and headed for Mt. Shasta without a second thought... Why because STANDARDS had been adhered to.
Yes I do my own maintenance, in my A&P's hangar with him supervising, and even then Paul has managed to find some things that need to be replaced since he got N2273H. But I am sure, he is glad to have all the maintenance records and is assured that the work has been done correctly. (now if I could only find the weight and balance folder) I am sure I have a point here some where.... ----- Original Message ----- From: Greg Bullough <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: coupers <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, March 01, 2000 5:14 AM Subject: [COUPERS] Owner maintenence initiative > I just read more on the proposal to let us maintain our own > airplanes (as one can now do in Canada) in Atlantic Flyer. > > Apparently some A&P groups are arraying themselves against > the proposal.
