Once owners start doing un-supervised maintenance, old airplanes will
become
worthless. if you do not believe me go find a 1946 Dodge and take it on a
500 mile drive.  The guy I just bought my Cherokee from was a bit of a
flake, but after looking at the logs and verifying the work had been done,
I jumped in and headed for Mt. Shasta without a second thought... Why
because STANDARDS had been adhered to.

Yes I do my own maintenance, in my A&P's hangar with him supervising, and
even then Paul has managed to find some things that need to be replaced
since he got N2273H.  But I am sure, he is glad to have all the
maintenance
records and is assured that the work has been done correctly. (now if I
could only find the weight and balance folder)

I am sure I have a point here some where....
