Hello list,

this weekend was the blasting weekend. The walnut shells worked OK on the
light stuff but the wing attach fittings were steel, and I had some heavy
areas so I bought some #30 sand. Worked really well, removed all the
white powdery spots and left the entire wing ready for paint.

I applied alodine to the entire wing with a spray bottle, then water
rinsed that and let it air dry. Then on with the stitts green epoxy
primer. That stuff is excellent! should be really bullet proof when it's
completely cured. The wings sure look nice all primed and smooth!

I also removed the belly skin. It's 2ft by 4 ft rectangular. The rivets
drill off really easy. There are a couple of angle channel pieces that
give you a fit, but otherwise it comes right off. I dont have any
corrosion problems down there. I was kinda holding my breath on the
center section since the plane had been sitting outside for so long. Next
week I'll have to blast the entire center section. Also, with that belly
skin off it's going to make it REAL easy to re-wire the airplane.

All my Stitts stuff came UPS on Friday, so I'm ready to cover the wings-
after I first run some new wingtip light wiring.

Does anyone have any Ercoupe paint scheme drawings. I have seen some
coloring book style drawings that can be copied and then colored in for
sample paint schemes. Anyone know where those came from ?
