Greg, Univair is still supplying Alon tank @ $1,100 a pop. Field
approved
for Ercoupes. Plumbing may be required.
No question that having a ready to install tank is great. Still
depending
on Model what tank your work with and etc. Plumbing may be required. The
guys
with 813 and down are screwed when it comes to tank as you know. Early C
with
metal tank going up to newer tank have a plumbing problem also. Few will
have
an out and in tank install.
Also if you have not noticed A LOT of Coupers don't have much
disposable
cash.
I have help build RV4 tanks and the pressure test is just another part
of
the job. And no big deal to do. But time consuming to build. If you just
rebuild your tanks it is also time consuming also. Even more so because of

tanking them apart.
I like the part of just sending the filler flange. That piece of brass

would be the hard part to make.
Yes, welded tank in the long run will leak less. But we have so few
choices. And to be within the regs. is also important. I am open to any
good
ideas that will help keep our airplanes flying. Why not have fuel cell
tanks?
Using the outside sink as a support.
Anybody who can come up with an affordable idea is welcome.
