Coupers; A friend of mine has just purchased an Alon which has signs of fuel seepage from around several of the lower rivets in both wing fuel tanks. I
have seen discussion of tank repair on the net, and I know that with the riveted tanks, the best solution is to drill out the rivets and repair, then re-rivet. Do I cut a hole in the end of the tank in order to gain access, then drill out the rivets, replace, and patch the end of the tank? I believe that I have seen someone write that the new tanks from Univair develop the same leaks? I would appreciate your candid advice on the best way to solve the problem. Thanks in advance.
