I don't feel there would be any significant loss of structural strength
from 
the extra holes, but to be sure, one could easily rivit in a cover strip
of 
lauminum and utilize all existing holes to strenghten the ribs.....I think

would be considered just standard "doubling '' repairs.  The weight gain 
would still need to be considered ( tho not very much weight )---and less 
than the metalized STC, for sure.
