Just a thought: If you're running so hot, why dio you think the plugs are fouling? On a different note, many Marvel carbs with the one piece venturi do tent to run lean under cruise conditions. Precision has a fix, which I believe they are still providing free.

The last time I mentioned it several of you suggested being agressive with the leaning. So I bought this EGT so I could watch what goes on. You won't belive this. While wide open and climbing out at 2300 rpm (4000 ft elev) I leaned for peak and hit 1400 deg., then richened up to 1300 since I was still at full power. When I leveled off at about 4500 ft. and reduced the throttle to maintain 2300 the temp went up to 1400. I pushed the mixture in all the way. It maintained 1400 deg. unless I went wide open which caused it to decrease immediately since the mix was rich. As long as the throttle was not wide open, the mixture control seems to have not effect unless I pull into cuttoff. Does this Marvelous Scheiber carb have some kind of automatic leaning system?
