I'll tell you what , I am 41 , know a good airfield locally I could buy reasoneable , paved , with hangars , shop space , and also extra undeveloped space .
Would make a great full service FBO ( or production facility ).
The location is good...
I am experienced in estimating and getting big dollar projects , ( in mfg
)
( largest to date was 28 Mil ) , ( not that much , but not bad either....)
Love flying , and agree that there is an EXISTING desire out there
for GA aircraft with a reasoneable cost .
Even good honest service is in demand....
Trouble is , insurance and regulations are not interested in the average
General Aviation type of guy (or girl) .
(Thank heaven girls love flying too) .
If you look around , I seems that that the INDEPENDANT
A&P and FBO operator is vanishing into the Corporate Twilight Zone
The thought of actually producing ( let alone maintaining )
an AFFORDABLE , well designed aircraft ,
using existing and proven techniques enhanced by using modern
equipment and materials, is just too much of a risk today.
If you actually have an attorney or insurance agent for a friend ,
ask them if they would be interested in representing or insuring
your new venture to build a new aircraft .
I suppose your attorney might if you paid them hourly.
Anyone else , your observations are welcome..........
