Maybe if our FBOs supplied 80-octane, we'd support them. Of the three
airports where
I might base 06H, one is closer to home and has only 100LL and Jet A.

Two others are closer to work, and have 80 and 100LL.

At all three, the majority of planes on the field are designed to run on
80.

Guess where I'm basing 06H?

Guess who, as a result, is also going to get the tie-down fee, the annual
inspection,
and the unscheduled and scheduled maintenence. Guess who's going to supply
the CFI for my next BFR. And guess whose hangar waiting list I'm on.

Right! An FBO who picked a distributer who supplies 80 Octane and who
spent the money on the tankage and equipment to pump it, thus serving
the interests of the majority of planes on the field. No, we probably
don't
bring them as much profit as the guy who fills up his King Air, but
someone
apparently still cares.

If the closer airport (SMQ) had 80, I'd probably be there.
