I don't understand how there could be "controversy" about
the battery and "thoughts" about it. The type certificate
calls for a specific battery. That manufacturer is no longer
in business but there are equivalent aircraft batteries
available and STC'd for the coupe. I don't remember what the
coupe _battery compartment_ looks like, but in an Alon it's
under the pilot's seat and is not a compartment at all but a
hold-down arrangement which requires the use of a manifolded
aircraft battery. I am trying to get Concorde to get their
sealed-cell battery STC'd for Alons so that it will be fully
legal to use.

If you are not using an aircraft battery with anti-spill
caps, you are risking injury in an accident.

Are you bragging that your I/A hasn't inspected your battery
box. I sure wouldn't want to use that person to inspect my
aircraft.

Again, is there any thinking to be done? Isn't the cable
part of the double fork installation? It's not an "if you
want to use it" optional item.
