Not sure what 'work OK' means, Ken.
All the cheapie units are non aviation.
They should all work in a Coupe within their limited design
parameters.....
Location in terms of lat/long, speed and approximate altitude.
Lat/long value is rather limited without a map to pinpoint yerself.
Once you log in some location waypoints, value increases dramatically.
You could spend the rest of your life doing this monotonous chore and
still
not have all you want. <g>

I'm guessing you might be referring to GARMIN's SPEED restrictions of 99
knots?
Garmin is the the only one doing that cute business from my experience.
Although the Garmin 12XL (non aviation) has no such restriction.
These are relatively cheap units and make many owners very happy including
Ercoupe owners. Maybe even some Mooney drivers, too. <g>

Aviation varieties have Jeppsen aviation databases.
And you will pay dearly for these wonders of wonders.
But gawd, they're grrrreat.
The newest varieties even have great detailed moving maps that are totally

unecessary for navigation until you own one.
Like crack or cocaine, once hooked it's hard to give it up.
NO, my only drug habit is.... aviation.
I do get very high on it. <g>
