Ed..... Just curious....which cylinder did you put the probe on? Cliff....
PS- As a footnote. I found on a newly purchased Coupe(I was new too) that I could not use my mixture control to lean even at 5000 ft or more, though the plane otherwise seemed to fly OK. Later, after an event, I cleaned that passage from the carb throat to the mixture valve and the mixture control worked normally(for a Strom carb).Also, I picked up 25+ full throttle RPM.
