Maybe that's why it won. B206s are usually operated in the sort of service
where they have a relatively easy life (executive transport) and very
dedicated and professional service, not to mention highly qualified
operators. Not much IFR or marginal condition use, either.

Then, as you say, a 'fatigue machine' tends to become a whole NEW
machine every so-many hours.

The turbine might be simple/reliable, but the gearbox that changes all them
RPMs to main rotor speed is no picnic. Still, it's well-understood at this
point and compared to the stuff that goes into the heavier-duty and military
choppers, it's probably just loafing.
