He's probably right, but I wouldn't do it. The reason is that most people, without training, will get halfway through the roll and end up coming out in a split-s because they: 1. Didn't get the nose high enough at the start, and so they end up upside down with the nose pointed about 45 degrees down; 2. Didn't get up enough airspeed before the entry; and 3. Lose their nerve halfway through the roll and forget to keep in full aileron; 4. Forget to use the elevator at proper times in the roll to help with the pitch; 5. Forget to use the rudder. If they have one...heh I wouldn't do it in an Ercoupe because too often it ends up in a crash. Also, never do it without training, because you're almost certain to end up in a split-s. If you don't know what a split-s is, it's when you roll upside down, then stop rolling and pull back to do a "half loop". It usually gets way above redline speed. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Steve Dold ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) http://home.pacbell.net/sdold/ Say NO to useless over-quoting ----------------------------------------------------------------
