Yes, as long as your filesystem doesn't have anything funky (sparse files,
ACLs, SELinux tagging etc).

If you can still access files in cur and new, then I don't expect it makes
any difference.

Probably a good idea to mount the partition read-only and back it up,
*before* running reisferfsck over it. If reiserfsck succeeds, then you could
try a second backup to see if you get more data off (but don't overwrite the
first backup, as conceivably you might have *less* data after reiserfsck
completes)
