It is possible to configure courier to relay through another server.
However, you should find a server who accepts relaying your mail.
I don't think gmail does that. Your ISP may do it.

On what grounds do they bounce your messages? As long as your ip is
not listed on, e.g., spamhaus.org or mail-abuse.com they should have
no reason to block it.
