Hi BooK,

Unfortunately, the CPAN Testers Fund is quite substantial enough to set up
unusual platforms yet, but it may be a possibility in the future.

You currently have two ways to contribute to the CPAN Testers Fund.
gittip/gratipay is one, but the main one is the Fund run by EPO -
https://members.enlightenedperl.org/drupal/donate-cpan-testers. Once the
gratipay account gets big enough to withdraw, I plan to put it into the
Fund held by EPO. We can use this to pay for the current servers we have.
If the Fund grows enough, particularly if we had regular donations from
companies as per Mark Keating's suggestion, then buying/leasing servers/VMs
for specific platforms might be an option.

However, at the moment we have to rely on the good will of the testing
community :)

Cheers,
Barbie.
