I agree on some of what you wrote. The little things that some of us do
to keep our servers off from the same old grey mass have become quite
impossible recently. I understand that Valve wants to have similiar
experience for each player that starts playing but this method of
ignorance only hurts and drives people away from playing the game and
people who are running servers in the long run.
Players may get the same experience and play some time but eventually
they get bored. They wont be finding those servers that keep them
playing. It's not the Counter-Strike that keeps them playing, it's
everything build to enhance that experience. Friends, game modes, maps,
the servers they play on. The competitive side only carries a slight
weight on that balance. No one listens the public players, people who
run servers and their wishes, only competitive side and changes to that.
Put the basic things into the game that used to work first before you
drive all the server admins who aren't "Hammer legion members" away.

Stupid question, do I have to run a Top 20 server for discuss this
things?
Sorry, after ~7 years I'm a little bit tired to discuss things, which
are normal scine cs1.6.
It's clear that Valve break the menus. Maybe it's better, when the
whole community stops programming plugins for CS:GO. The last few
updates shows us, that valve doesn't like to support plugins.
I think they want more professinal gamers, they can bring a news on it.
In the most time we give improvement suggestions like lzma support for
fastdownload, a non-interactive steamcmd tool without login and much
more.
I think it's useless to discuss about the menus. Let them not work,
give a shit on the community. Stop to discuss.
A point is reached, where iv'e lost my interest on this games/servers.
It's really hard, because we have a german support board for source
servers, which is good visited.
I know the most problems of the 'normal serveradmins'. The most
problems caused by the new config-style (Key Values), the mapgroups
and the nice steamcmd tool.
Additional Valve put some new bugs into the game, to make it a little
bit harder for the serveradmins and players.
To write, that this is the problem from the plugin developers straw
that breaks the camel's back.
