Sorry for the late reply. My comments below

As far as I know-- one reason why Moblin changed target-- is because

Moblin was always targetted for the x86 MID systems. It still is. My
encounter with Moblin came in 2008 LinuxAsia conference. Intel was demoing
Moblin and talking on topics like future of Mobile computing there.

Moblin was founded to adress the peculiar problem. Lack of x86 softwares
optimised for power and screen estate.

The early builds of Moblin simply used to branch from ubuntu mobile codebase
and work from there. Hildon Window Decorator was used during ubuntu codebase
era. They then later changed ships to fedora, for reasons I never
understood. Clutter usage started in fedora codebase era. However, while
they were able to make to UI user friendly with clutter, the lack of
applications was still a problem. I suppose that's why they turned to Maemo
for help. Maemo has a strong community support.

Buddy-- I wanna see your AIGO P8860-- can I come to one of your

The above problem ( of lack of applications ) will be obvious to you when
you see the device. The device's OS is Midinux
<http://www.redflag-linux.com/en/product_end.php?class1=12&class2=1&productid=1>,
made by RedFlag. Its kinda alpha build so full of chinese stuff. Makes it
somewhat useless. However, the H/W shows its power when called for, capable
to play x264 encoded movies with any Jitter! But lack of applications makes
it difficult for everyday use.
You are welcome to see and try out the device. I would like to hear your
feedback.
