BTW: an even simpler solution is to manipulate the floating image, and leave the table as a normal 100% width non-float: img#about-cover {margin-left: -102px;} ...which achieve the same result: table overlapping floating image, by reversing the element-space manipulation. Looks perfectly stable across browser-land. Another point for floats and negative margins... ;-) Just remember: the table has to have transparent background for it to work.
