Many thanks for all of the great replies! Very informative.

I will try to see if I can compensate in other ways (vs. using an 
Opera-specific filter.)

Additionally, I can live with the extra spacing... Also, it could just 
be that I need to hone my CSS skills some more when it comes to hidden 
form inputs and form background images. :D
