GALE RELEASES BUSINESS & COMPANY RESOURCE CENTER 2.0

New version of popular online product includes new content and new
functions

Gale, a leading research and reference publisher for libraries and part
of
The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC, TSX:TOC) has released its most
comprehensive business research tool in a new version. Business &
Company
Resource Center 2.0, an online product, expands from its predecessor
including both new content and new functions.

"Highly recommended" by Library Journal, Business & Company Resource
Center
has become a staple on the networks of public and academic libraries
serving
businesses and business students. Originally released in 2000, the
product
has been embraced for the broad range of business research needs it
addresses -- from management and strategy to operational or financial
research on nearly any issue or company. Business & Company Resource
Center
integrates in a single search interface daily news, investment and
financial
data, and such hard-to-find information as corporate histories and
chronologies.

Version 2.0 includes expanded search options, which allow users to
search
for companies by product, brand and industry. New article searching
options
include subject guide, keyword and full-text searches. More advanced
searches allow concurrent searches of up to 10 journals or customized
searches that allow users to search individual datasets by multiple
index
fields. Additionally, company profiles now include topical links to
articles, while within the News/Magazine tab, users have access to
facsimile
image PDFs.

New Content in Version 2.0 includes several Gale print business titles,
such
as Encyclopedia of American Industries, Encyclopedia of Global
Industries,
Encyclopedia of Emerging Industries, Market Share Reporter and World
Market
Share Reporter. Gale continues to leverage its Thomson family ties to
include complete and authoritative financial data. Content from Thomson
Financial such as Investext, selected First Call data, company
performance
ratings, balance sheets, current investment ratings, insider buying and
selling activity is enhanced in Version 2.0 with First Call Earnings
Estimates Snapshot. Also new to the new version is content from the
business
sections of over 70 newspapers.

Gale was careful to retain the strengths of the original product. For
example, its global and diverse content, which creates comprehensive
reports
on virtually any business research question or project. Depth and
context
continues to be provided with extensively researched company profiles,
that
delineate parent/sibling relationships, products and brands, histories,
industry rankings and statistics, stock prices. Industry context is
provided
with continuously updated news, magazine and newswire data, along with
investment reports, consumer marketing data, and emerging technology
reports, industry newsletter news and analysis, business journal
articles
and press releases.

Additionally, Business & Company Resource Center, 2.0, retains its easy
to
use navigation. Information is organized within 'file folders,' which
Library Journal called 'especially useful,' allowing users to begin a
search
with any piece of information, but also view it within the context of an
entire company profile. The user can scan "file tabs" to determine which
direction to pursue. Tabs remain consistent, making it easy to switch
directions or gather additional data.
