<< In fact, the lack of lawsuit should tell you something. Among others,
Michael Aquino has been accused of being involved in many things by O'Brien,
and he's never bothered to sue her: in fact, he ENCOURAGES the repeating of
her absurd tales. >>
GENUINE disinformation works in mysterious ways, sometimes left-handedly.
Cui bono?
Who really profits from our taking O'Brien seriously and believing that a
highly efficient top secret government/military technology exists for
producing hypnotized, amnesiac, unaware-of-who-they-really-are "sex-slaves"?
I think I see two lines forming here -- one for masochistic WANNABEE victims
and another for predatory sadistic experimenters. (I'll ignore the third,
composed of those who IMAGINE they WERE --but somehow, no longer are-- Satanic
cult products, past multiple incest victims, and UFO abductees, along with
other so-unique distinctions.)
Anyone with a thorough grounding in the potential for REAL "mind control,"
beginning with clinical (not stage variety) hypnosis, knows that a significant
part of the actual behavior exhibited while in a "trance" state is conditioned
by what the hypnotic subject BELIEVES the "power of hypnosis" can make him/her
do. (Quite a few scientific papers have been written on this phenomenon, at
one extreme claiming that hypnotic behavior is really only a form of "play-
acting," if only on a split-off, unconscious level.)
Think about that. Any woman who sincerely BELIEVES hypnosis COULD make anyone
a helpless sex-slave of the sort Cathy O'Brien describes would in fact make
one of the best possible candidate for such a role HERSELF.
It doesn't even matter if she is OUTRAGED by the picture painted by O'Brien,
because the very fact that she strongly feels ANYTHING about it (other than
cynical disbelief) indicates a dark, denied/disavowed "fascination" that could
potentially be exploited by a skilled professional mind-bender, who'd know how
to use that negative cathexis as a springboard, "flip-flopping" that energy
into its opposite -- as "positive" MOTIVATION.
It's a short leap from vicariously watching the TV screen of one's own
emotion-charged imagination to looking in the MIRROR, via the double-edged
sword of "identification."
And there are plenty of Gen-X gals who'd be TURNED ON by the sex-slave role as
sketched by O'Brien -- you know the type, the new '90s "mainstream" body-
piercing, blood-drinking, S&M Goth chick ...
So, you see why someone like Aquino wouldn't object. It's pretty good PR for
those who know how to capitalize on the publicly-inadmissible perversity of
human nature.
Think of Cathy O'Brien as a Helen Gurley Brown for aspiring young meat puppets
-- the left hand doing what the right hand would never dare admit or condone,
of course ...
