There are plenty of Bible programs available -- many as freeware or
shareware -- which makes looking up a subject a simple prospect.
If one is going to ramble on about why a religious painting utilizes
various symbology, they'd be better off doing the research themselves to
get the answer than to expect pat answers from email lists...
The pat answer is that various gems have various meanings in the Bible...
and since this is NOT a Bible list, any more detailed discussion is OT...
that's 'off topic', not 'Old Testament'...
And I am NOT going to apologize for expecting people on this list to be
capable of conducting a modicum of research on their own...
