True, for the most part we are more concerned with sport scores and sales
at the grocery store than what our government is up to. The problem is is
that our government is up to SO many things.
The Internet and discussion groups are so helpful in managing the volume
and scope of information and to quickly throw cold water on the screaming
hoaxes that slip through.
I believe that this vehicle has helped tremendously in getting people more
active in government doings. I know that I have written more to
politicians in the past year than I have ever done before. It seems to be
the thing to do as most of their mail boxes are over loaded and it is
becoming quite clear that they don't read their email. However, that
doesn't stop me from posting to them!!! :)
As I have written before, the sad thing is that I would so easily believe
this to be true - not from being a conspiracy nut, but rather because I so
mistrust my government.
