You speak of dead energy, or dangerous energy. Holland has already proven that with wind we can liberate ourselves from the terrible hazards we put ourselves under from either oil, coal or nukes.
Wind of course is not the only way to go. Geo-thermo, solar, hydro and wind and energy efficiency are all ways to release ourselves from devastating our environment. To not pursue this is at our own peril. To continue on the course we are on is insane... People who think the way you do want to make us all in the path of the diplodocous. (And if you don't know what that is, then look it up).
