-Caveat Lector- SKOLNICK SCOOPS FARAH/WORLD NET DAILY ===================================== (CNNS, 04/29/99) -- On April 13, 1999, this news service received a report from special correspondent Sherman H. Skolnick, in which he warned that, according to his sources, the Serbs had left-over Soviet Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs) which they were capable of launching against the United States. Conspiracy Nation News Service published Skolnick's report the following day, April 14, 1999, titled "Skolnick: Kosovo Summary" and archived at the Conspiracy Nation web site in the "CNNS Press Releases" subsection (http://www.shout.net/~bigred/cn.html) Here is part of what Mr. Skolnick, chairman of the Chicago-based Citizens' Committee to Clean Up the Courts and host of a popular television program in that city, had to say, on April 13th (excerpt): Serbia reportedly has long-range missiles, left to them by their former patrons, the Soviets,--now get this--capable of reaching Washington, D.C. Fair is fair, right? If, without a declaration of war, we can bomb Belgrade near a hospital, surely they have the "right" to missile attack the U.S. Capitol. I take no delight or satisfaction as an American knowing this. I am not the only American appalled at our slide toward the dogs of war. According to Mr. Skolnick, an independent investigator who has cultivated deep-level sources since his work began, in 1963, he also sent copies of his initial report, which warned that the Serbs reportedly have ICBMs in their arsenal, to Joseph Farah and other journalists, including so-called establishment journalists, on April 13th. On April 19, 1999, Joseph Farah, editor of World Net Daily, an on-line, alternative news service (WorldNetDaily.com), in a column entitled "The Dangerous Balkans Game," repeated, based on his own sources, what Skolnick had previously warned (excerpt): In fact, recently, a high-placed source tells me, members of Congress received a classified briefing strongly suggesting the Serbs have inter-continental ballistic missiles capable of hitting the United States. I will repeat that: The Serbs have ICBMs capable of hitting the U.S. U.S. intelligence agencies assume Belgrade has this capability thanks to technology left behind from the old Soviet Union. In other words, the U.S. and NATO are tangling with a rogue nation that might just be able to wipe out a U.S. city or two if they really get angry enough. Thus it is apparent that Mr. Skolnick has "scooped" the prestigious World Net Daily. Mr. Skolnick, a modest man, was initially reluctant to "crow" about his scoop. But in the wider interest of underlining the danger we here in the U.S. are probably facing from Yugoslav-based ICBMs, as well as to issue a rejoinder to some who are inappropriately close-minded to reports emanating from underground journalists such as himself, Mr. Skolnick was persuaded to emphasize his previous report. Says Skolnick: "The Establishment Press are not the only ones with their ear to the ground to hear stuff." -- CNNS (Conspiracy Nation News Service) is an INDEPENDENT news outlet, not owned by anyone.
