The mysterious flash in the sky seen by a reporter on Martha's Vineyard around the time of the disappearance has fueled conspiracy theories. Was the crash an air explosion caused by a fuel leak, short circuit, an explosive device? Last Saturday, CNN kept bringing in a parade of "specialists" including one investigator that was there to speak about the anniversary of TWA Flight 800 and theories that had about terrorism and foul play, that couldn't completely be ruled out. Finding the husk of the plane and engine was especially crucial as it would determine traces of explosives or devices with wiring, timers, water proof combustable chemicals. Such a discover would determine a change in the sleuthing to "homicide." Which is why (contrary to some naysayers here), this investigator talked about looking into the backgrounds of JFK Jr. and the two Bessette sisters, particularly with Morgan Stanley brokerage house and smaller troubled staff reports about the Calvin Klein corporation and the infrastructure behind GEORGE magazine. The other area would be insurance life claims. Today the news reports that the JFK Jr. post mortem estate is worth around 50 million clams. With sister Caroline and nefews/neices as 1st beneficiaries, followed by charities. NY state has a law that if no bodies are found of a missing claimant after 3 years, the estate will be activated in absentia, though in the JFK Jr. case, evidence reveals this crash may not have been a "planned disappearance" or that bodies will be found. The press hasn't revealed if there was a prenuptial agreement. Worst of all, and Darkness help the JFK's lovers, is the distant rumor (Matt Drudge's word not mine), that the Bessette family can claim a "civil suit" upon the estate of JFK Jr. for negligence leading to the deaths of innocent civilians. Not helping the matter is the media playing up Caroline's fear of the little plane JOHN JOHN wasn't proficient to fly in bad conditions. Expect layers of wierdness to come out of this case, and sadly, some nasty creepiness from varying family members with the settlement of the estate, the trademark of the name/image of JFK Jr., and the real potential of "civil suits" to follow. Matt Drudge is a sleazemeister pimp, yet a reporter with leads and insider sources. I no longer say, "you're crazy Matt."
