Without adding anything to the debate about the medicinal
effectiveness of urine, I want to comment that most effective
medicines used directly from plants are not PATENTABLE.
I have been amazed to discover the effectiveness of plantain--a
small green very common weed that grows rampant in all the yards
on my block. It is not only a superior antibiotic, but takes the pain
out of any wound or the like (even an infected tooth!) within
minutes. I make a diffusion in olive oil for my own use. However, it
is not patentable as it is so simple that anyone who wanted to take
the least trouble, could make it for themselves. This is NOT a
placebo effect.
The medical/ pharmaceutical industry analyzes this simple plant,
takes the active ingredients, synthesizes them., mass produces
and markets them as a new drug. That is where the money is.
The medical/pharmaceutical industry does not want the public to
use real, actual medicinal plant materials. Their very existence is
based on synthesized materials and they are jeopardized when the
public becomes knowledgeable about real plant and herbal sources
for medications.
