Another thing that won't grow on your lawn if you use weed killer is a
wonderful, delicious salad green with a bit of a peppery flavor. You
know it best as the common weed, the dandelion. Pick them when they
first come up, before they bloom -- the leaves are a tender delicacy,
similar to watercress in flavor. And get a good field guide, maybe one
of Matt Anger's survival books; there are all kinds of goodies in your
yard and neigborhood, free for the picking.
