Strange...it's been an integral part of Asian cuisine for millenia, and
there are plenty of fit, healthy Chinese, whose civilization predates
ours by a millenia or so...

And as I mentioned in a previous post, my Dutch emmigre' relatives turned
their noses up at corn and tomatoes, claiming that those also were unfit
for human consumption and fit only for pigs...this from people who only a
few months before had been eating boiled tulip bulbs...
