-Caveat Lector- It's an interesting idea that one's government allows one to follow a particular religion. This assumes the government is a paternal body and not of the people and by the people who make it up. Well, maybe that's what we have in reality now in the US, but that's not the way it was supposed to be. If the government is of the people and by the people, then the people have a government based on principles that are part of the belief system, and therefore religion should come first in their life.
