I considered creating support for "ctwm --replace", like various other window managers have, so you can replace a wm with another without having to kill it yourself. However the protocol to do that turned out to be somewhat more involved than I expected. It seems part of the EWHM (Extended Window Manager Hints) specifications, and I was afraid I had to drag in support a whole lot of EWHM stuff. I'll keep it in mind for the next release though. There are some aspects of EWHM that would make sense for ctwm to support. See http://standards.freedesktop.org/wm-spec/wm-spec-1.3.html ). In particular I want the icon support, because (for example) Firefox gives me such a puny little icon now if I iconify it. It is probably sized so that it fits in a task bar, but via EWHM's _NET_WM_ICON property it offers a choice of icons in various sizes. But that's for later. -Olaf. -- ___ Olaf 'Rhialto' Seibert -- The Doctor: No, 'eureka' is Greek for \X/ rhialto/at/xs4all.nl -- 'this bath is too hot.'
