I have now tried, on my linux PC in the department running Scientific Linux 6. I killed ctwm, logged through to the solaris machine and ran the newly compiled version. It works fine and I am typing into an editor on my local machine while the window manager runs on Solaris. Firefox started up OK, and I have done a few tests with a graphical demo, and everying seems normal. It's mildly inconvenient because xterms launched from function key or ctwm menu run on the solaris machine by default, but I can also launch them locally with a bit of extra trouble. So you can say that 2.8.2.pre works on at least one old Solaris on sparc. Aaron
