Well, for me Monotone was a bit of an outlier of the version control systems, since I only used it for ctwm. So in theory replacing it with some other system which I use for nothing else is not worse. As long as it has a visualisation program to keep overview over the development graph. Having said that, I have occasionally used mercurial (hg) (for checking out Vim sources) but I don't know if there is such a visualisation for it (which can be practically built on NetBSD). I'm not opposed to git, even if its design criteria are "do everything the opposite way of cvs". I do use it for other stuff as well. I don't know if this is really helpful in choosing :-) As long as there is something that can still be used for development, however seldom it may be, I'm happy, I think. -Olaf. -- ___ Olaf 'Rhialto' Seibert -- The Doctor: No, 'eureka' is Greek for \X/ rhialto/at/xs4all.nl -- 'this bath is too hot.'
