I was not impressed with Ubuntu enough to switch. I had high hopes
because it is a fork from debian. Since Debian can't ever seem to make
a release Ubuntu seems to be doing what Debian can't. But alas, it
turns out that it's because Ubuntu does NOT include a lot of apps that
Debian does. Like KDE. There are rumors of external extra repositories
to install kde on ubuntu but i saw that 4 months after 'trying it out'.

I had a few other minor issues that required a root account but it was
not a big deal.

If KDE becomes standard in Ubuntu I definitely would try it again.
