I run Win2000 in the Office based on my experience I would not say it is
more stable. It needs more memory, more disk and costs more.

None - OE is configured to dump attachments. The OE usage in my sites is
very very small, maybe 1 usage a day (max). My config has worked for 3 years
but if your OE usage is going to be higher consider Martin's suggestion.

No I have not tried this. This might be worth checking if you think you need
Word installed.
