Wrightsville Beach report;  beer on beach around 3:00 pm; vodka around 5:30 on deck; wine at dinner. You people need to understand what vacations are for.

300 plus miles for the week, my "usual" pace. Many inlet bridges, quite a bit of wind. No ride shorter than 35 miles

They classify it as an A-level ride.  Well after looking at the ride info on the web I figured I'd give it a shot, after all, it's flat here. Roughly 20 riders headed out at an easy 18 mph pace to warm up. Within 5 miles the pace was up to 22 mph. Soon after and before the 10 mile mark the rolling pace was at 25 mph. There were two sprint points but the pace only went to 28 for 1/2 mile or so, then back down to 25. We rolled at 22 - 25 for the remainder of the route. My ride average was 21.27mph (traffic stops etc.) These guys and girls ride hard. I did the COW's proud and held my own, took several pulls at pace and even attacked the bridge on the way back with the small group 7 or 8 that rode over from the island. From the back I passed the group @ 35 and topped the bridge (a little larger than the emerald isle bridge)at 23. Started the attack a bit too early and got passed
