The big thing about shoes is to get a real stiff sole, carbon is the best but is expensive. I prefer speed play pedal, easy to get in and out, 20 degrees of float, important if you have knee problems or if your knees don't track straight. Don't skimp on money you get what you pay for. Pedals on-line no problem, get the best price. Shoes you would want to try on, I would not buy on-line unless I had tried on in a store first or was re-ordering shoes.
