I guess it was either the previous days 100K, the chilly weather or the
northerly breeze that kept the CoWs on the couch today! Jim and I were looking
for a recovery ride. What we got was DC. Oh crap! DC played nicely on the
first round of pulls but was getting anxious. The wind wasn't as bad as
yesterday but was still a royal pain. 18 miles into the ride and DC is like,
ok, you guys have recovered enough. So the last 12 miles in DC has us cruising
23-28mph. We end up with a 20 mph recovery ride average.
On a side note, we witnessed a minivan traveling Old Bailey crossing over
NC 97 through the stop sign without even slowing down about 200 feet in front
of us. Whew! Be careful, they don't always stop.
