After Kim's post on the left turn I have been more conscious of riding further out in the lane especially solo. Today heading out Bend of the river toward old carriage noticed a car coming up on me, put out the slow hand signal. Car stayed a safe distance back and waited until no oncoming traffic and then passed all the way over in the left lane. Saw the car at the store on old carriage so I decided to stop and thank the driver for not trying to squeeze by. She said she almost didn't see me as she was on the phone. Said her son rode and she tried to be careful around bikes. Phone not withstanding had I not been out in the lane she might not have seen me at all. Be careful out there. Road fixed gear for 22 miles at times rolling at 19/20. Great day to be on the bike. Birdman.
