I do have that requirement, not that I love it very much.

The mere existence of multiple "alternative" installers should speak to
you.

I have one last idea of how to live without that particular change.  If
it works, I'll drop the patch.  I will propose at least two other
changes that I don't think have workarounds that wouldn't require to
duplicate large swathes of functionality that already is in setup.exe,
but simply not accessible from the command line.
