A Reflection on Today's Scripture:
Again, today, we have been encouraged to reflect on the identity of
the little baby in the manger in Bethlehem. Who was He, what kind of
a person would He be?
How blessed we are, that we're the recipients of the Church's
revelation on that very question. We take it for granted that the
Person who walked on water, multiplied loves and fishes to feed the
multitude, raised the dead, cured the sick and other astonishing
phenomena was The Promised One. Such knowledge should lead us to
greater love and reverence; yet, does it? Or, like the disciples are
our minds completely closed to the meaning of these events?
As we begin a new year and a new millennium may, we beg God to open
our hearts that we may see His glory as He so abundantly reveals it.
May we be like the merest of children to whom He reveals the secrets
of His Kingdom.
Glory to Christ who is proclaimed to the world;
glory from all who believe in Him!
