Thinking a little about that, I note that the identification of a hunk or 
even a patch is non-trivial.  It takes too much text, basically.

Naturally; if and when we have in place the concept of (local) numerical 
identification of patches that changes.

So, I suggest you add this to the bugtracker as a feature request for 
future reference.
