For what it's worth, I was about to announce the release of darcs 2.3 on linuxfr.org (the French slashdot), but as I was writing the article, I thought that there was not many new user-visible features in that release, and that the speedup only affecting "darcs whatsnew" was a little anticlimatic. I did not submit anything in the end (laziness helped).
