<commit-bit hat on> I wasn't gonna say anything, but Gwern's bundle being several incremental bits rather than a single cohesive patch was bit of a "turn off" for me. I've given up expecting cohesive patches in other VCSs, but IMO darcs amend and send --in-reply-to make it easy enough to tip the cost/reward balance to "worth the effort". The reward is twofold: Petr's reasons, and a prettier changelog :-) Er, not that I'm volunteering to push this work into HEAD... someone else can be the first to find any bugs in the new commit-bit policy ;-) > I would have done most of the changes I did anyway -- I just squashed > them, together with your original patches, into a single patch. Maybe the lossless workflow could have been: - apply gwern's bundle; - unrecord them; - record a single "coherent" patch, spoofed as gwern; then - record or amend with your (Petr's) work. _______________________________________________ darcs-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.osuosl.org/mailman/listinfo/darcs-users
