This bug seems to be about using numbers that go all the back in the
patch history. I agree with rejecting that change. It would give the
impression that darcs history is static and that patches can have fixed
numerical identifiers. That does really model reality, and I think
could create a mess.

Perhaps they are OK, and it is the documentation that needs to be
updated. At this point, I feel like I'm still learning about them and
am offering comments more in the spirit of constructive feedback than a
request for change.

Darcs continues to be a tool I enjoy to use
everyday. I don't think my team realizing how much more overhead we
could have if we used another source control tool.
