For the ones interested in this, EXIV2 is expected to support CR3 files
on version 0.27.4.
0.27.4 is scheduled for release the 21st of May 2021.
So you just need to wait a few more months. :-)

significant fine detail improvements. However, very little improvement
from Bayer sensor images. He supplied before and after images.
So LR still spins and I once again will return to using Darktable for
editing and Lightroom for cataloging.
