Might it have something to do with the sqlite? Is there a way to rebuild
sqlite w/o loosing data? Perhaps it's somehow related to new/old tags?

fwiw, I can blank the tags line and add by hand the noted string of tags
and still have the same lock-up when trying to import a folder. Note that
I *am* able to import images, select all the images within the directory
and they all import. ???

tks,
