Tim, I was about to check in a UTF-8 patch for DBD::Pg when I realized that I did not know when perl got unicode support. I know that 5.8 has support and that 5.6 has some unicode support, but I do not know about 5005. So what is the min. version of perl that you want DBD drivers to support, 5.005 or 5.6? If 5005, does it have unicode support or should the unicode functions be #ifdefed out? And along the same lines, is unicode support in 5.6 stable enough to be used by the DBDs?
