Well let me weigh in here with my 2cents worth as I am back from my semi-vacation as well.

First let me say that the DBD_Verbose has been a great help to me and I have at least two bug in the works were the user has used ORA_Verbose to give me an exact picture of what is going wrong with the code (OIC) which will save me a great deal of debugging time.

That aside when I implemented it I simply stuck to the old KISS principle and stuck a DBD_verbse condition with each DBI_DEBUG it. Simple crude and effective.

Looking at the thread the ideas seems to be

1) two ranges of debugging (DBI and DBD)
2) Flags that that can turn debugging off or on for a specific action
   -debug_select
   -debug_commit
   -debug_connect
   -debug_oracle
???

cheers
